We have built The Game of Diffraction, a simulated six-circle X-ray diffractometer that runs in the browser. Load a crystal structure from a CIF, rock the crystal, and the app shows which reflections cross the Ewald sphere and where they land on the detector. Find omega gives the angles that bring a chosen reflection into the Bragg condition, and a second machine, a pitch–phi surface diffractometer, covers surface diffraction. The code was validated at the P10 beamline (PETRA III, DESY), and the pitch–phi geometry at FXE (European XFEL). The video also covers the desktop app, which loads a measured 3D reciprocal-space volume (here MAPbI3) and shows which diffuse features each detector position will record.
